An anaesthesiologist with more than 15 years of experience, Dr. Suchith Cheruvally is a senior consultant in the department. After receiving his MBBS from the University of Calicut, he continued on to the Goa University to obtain his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Anaesthesiology. Also, he worked as a clinical assistant professor of cardiac anaesthesia at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, and an assistant professor of anaesthesia at Malabar Medical College, Kozhikode. His clinical responsibilities mostly involve adult intensive care units, thoracic surgery, adult cardiac surgery operating rooms, and catheterization labs.
With experience in preoperative patient assessment, anaesthetic plan formulation, adequate theatre preparation, induction and case management, conducting and reporting Trans oesophageal echocardiography examinations in cardiac surgery, and postoperative care, Dr. Suchith Cheruvally established the department of cardiac anaesthesia at Avitis Institute of Medical Sciences. In to keep up with developments in his area, he regularly attends conferences and training sessions and has published a number of publications.
