Dr. Rajesh Gopalakrishna

Medical Gastroenterology

Dr. Rajesh Gopalakrishna is a highly accomplished Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology and Hepatology with over 15 years of experience and extensive expertise in managing complex hepatopancreaticobiliary disorders. A medical graduate from Calcutta University, he completed his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, followed by prestigious international fellowships in Japan and the United Kingdom. His specialization in pancreaticobiliary diseases was further strengthened by the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology Research Fellowship in 2011 and the Commonwealth Academic Fellowship in 2014. During these fellowships, he underwent advanced clinical training at renowned institutions in Tokyo and University College Hospital, London. These experiences have shaped his deep expertise in endoscopic techniques, especially ERCP, EUS, cholangioscopy, and image-enhanced endoscopy.
Dr. Rajesh is deeply committed to both clinical excellence and academic advancement. His clinical interests include early diagnosis and intervention in liver and pancreaticobiliary malignancies. A prolific contributor to the field, he has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and 10 book chapters, and is the editor of the widely referenced book “Practical Gastroenterology (2nd Edition).” Recognized for his expertise, he is a fellow of several leading medical associations and regularly delivers lectures and presentations at national and international conferences.
