She obtained her MBBS degree from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences in Coimbatore, and then pursued DGO, DNB, MNAMS from Government Medical College, Kottayam. Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Treatment of Incontinence from the National University of Medicine Seoul in South Korea, and DMAS from the prestigious KEIL School of Endoscopy in Germany, where she gained advanced knowledge and technical abilities in laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Urmila Soman has performed over 10000 gynaec laparoscopic surgeries throughout her career, including all advanced procedures by minimally invasive techniques. She is also recognized for her exceptional expertise in transvaginal tape procedures for urinary stress incontinence and laparoscopic pelvic reconstructive surgeries using mesh.
